This first edition was deposed in the National Library at Athens. All the engravings are reproductions from the originals at the British School (Athens) and in private collections.

 

This special edition of engravings by foreign travelers to Greece is intended to awaken images and memories of the Greek heritage.

 

These lavish engravings are of Greek life in the 17 th and 18 th centuries.
